InfoJobs registered a total of 228,061 job vacancies to work in Spain in March, a figure 16% higher than that of the previous month but 12% lower than that of March 2022, when Spain began “to see the light at the end of the tunnel after the pandemic and the term recovery was already mentioned,” according to the job portal.
However, he also points out that at the same time a period marked by events such as the war in Ukraine, high inflation, rises in interest rates and the loss of the purchasing power of wages, which have marked the situation of the labor market, began. in the last twelve months.
At the very start of the Easter campaign, the growth in tourism and restaurants was particularly noteworthy, with more than 26,500 vacancies, 35% more than last month.
The first three positions in the ranking of the most demanded positions were occupied by the new telemarketer, sales representative and real estate agent, also highlighting the presence of waiters, who rose two positions compared to February and stood in eighth place with more than 6,000 vacancies, a figure which practically doubles that of the previous month.
The commercial and sales categories, with 21%; tourism and restaurants (12%); and customer service (10%), accounted for 43% of the vacancies this month.
Among the vacancies registered in InfoJobs, a total of 102,561 jobs offering permanent contracts were published, representing 45% of the vacancies that reported on the type of contract. On the other hand, fixed-term contracts, 51,005, represented 22.3% of the total on the platform.
With regard to the type of workday to be carried out, vacancies that offered full-time work predominated, representing 62% of the total, while 17.6% of the jobs offered part-time work.
59.7% of the positions offered through InfoJobs in March were located in the Community of Madrid (61,485 vacancies), Catalonia (49,350 vacancies) and Andalusia (25,382 vacancies).
