If Adrien Cachot has been surprising at first, the candidate of the brigade of Paul Pairet has distinguished himself throughout the cooking competition on M6. Since 2017, Adrien Cachot is the leader of his own restaurant, Detour to Paris. It is thanks to her creativity, in particular, that the cook, a native of the bordeaux region has reached the final of the competition, broadcast tonight at 21h. Adrien confronts David Gallienne in the final, during a final test, well known to viewers : cook for a hundred guests of the red Cross at the George V, a prestigious establishment in Paris. While the public will discover in a few hours the identity of the winner of this season 11 of Top Chef, Adrien told us in an interview his feelings on this last straight line of the culinary competition, his experience with the contest and its future projects.
How did you envision this ultimate test ?
I apprehended the final. I was quite ready.
You have to face David in the final, a candidate who proved to be formidable during the competition : did you feel particular pressure ?
The more hard it usually is to work well by focusing on yourself. Each candidate would have happened in the final would have been a candidate formidable. There was no extra pressure.
“I was not expecting to receive so much kindness on the part of the viewers”
the ceremony of The knife has been turned in special circumstances this year, how have you lived ?
Yes, it is special, I had to be the only one to draw the knife… I would have preferred to be with my family, but the context that we didn’t had the choice. It is a shame not to have been able to be with my family and Paul Pairet, we want to share this moment with them. But there’s nothing we can do, so this is not serious.
you felt complicit with your coach Paul Pairet. What memories do you have from mentoring ?
I kept a very good memory. I love my boss, this meeting has been a very nice discovery. It is a beautiful person, not just a great conductor.
The public has been very enthusiastic about your personality and your kitchen throughout your career, how have you lived ?
With the containment we have been able to take the time to watch Top Chef and enjoy it : I spent very good moments in front of my tv. And for the social networks, followed by the force of things, because we’re curious and we look at it anyway… I find that this year there were a lot of great characters, there’s not really a favourite that stands out and that is a good thing. But honestly, I was expecting not to receive all this kindness on the part of viewers. It is the most beautiful victory I have had in Top Chef.
“My project is to find a place that will give me the means of my dreams”
If you need to make the balance sheet of your adventure that brought you Top Chef ?
It will give me the opportunity to have fun and be even more free than before. I am very happy to have been able to meet all the friends I’ve been able to make me during Top Chef. It also has the chance to meet great chefs, so we try to take what they can give us so it was a nice experience from every point of view. I take out the positive, everything has been wonderful for me.
