One of San Antonio’s newest gyms will give their clients the feeling of hitting the nightclub while they’re hitting the weights when doors open later this week.
Alio Fitness Club, at 15909 San Pedro Ave., doesn’t take the “club” designation lightly. Founders Samuel Noyola and Daniel Rubalcaba have designed their upcoming business with a high-end appeal and an exclusive clientele in mind.

Rubalcaba told mySA.com Alio’s ambiance would provide a more private workout option for local celebrities and public figures to workout in exclusivity.
“Alio Fitness Club has limited amount of memberships available,” the owners said. “We wanted to make sure all members are taken care of with high priority.”
Membership pricing is disclosed in person, at the club, once a client’s goals and health are assessed.

Windows are blacked out with limo-style tint, top-tier equipment and a playlist of house and electronic dance music set the high-energy vibe inside the 3,000-square-foot gym with a 21 and up age limit.
The new boutique-style gym is the only one of its kind in Texas to accept only members older than 21, the owners said.
“We felt that San Antonio needed a cultivated environment where members can experience more than just a workout,” Rubalcaba said.

Along with creating an alternate aesthetic, Alio exclusively hired trainers who have exercise science degrees aside from regular certifications.
Alio Fitness Club will host a grand opening on Feb. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. The owners said the event will be the first of many they have planned in conjunction with other business that will take place at the gym.
“Fitness training is only half of what we do, hosting social events and ensuring that our members have an experience unlike any other is the other half,” the owners said.
