If you are considering a home renovation and need some inspiration or expert advice, visit the GTA Home and Reno Show.
The show runs Feb. 17-20 at the International Centre in Mississauga and is all about home renovation and repair. It features more than 300 exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services to suit everyone’s renovation wants and needs.
If you are an aspiring do-it-yourselfer, you’ll love the Handyman’s Corner exhibit, where you can get tips and tricks for your upcoming project from Canada’s Handyman Shawn Monteith. Every day Shawn will work with the audience on a number of common home improvement tasks. It’s a great way to learn more about things such as painting, grouting or drywall repair.
You’ll find even more celebrities and seminars at the Casalife Main Stage. From maximizing the space inside your home to boosting its resale value, there will always be something happening on the stage, so check out the full schedule at www.gtahomeandrenoshow.com . Some of the celebrity appearances you can look forward to include design duo Colin and Justin, HGTV’s renovation expert and Dragons’ Den contestant Damon Bennett and Cityline’s DIY and design expert Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault.
A must-see presentation for anyone planning a home renovation is the Five Steps to a Successful Renovation seminar, which will take place at the Casalife Main Stage on Saturday, Feb. 18, at noon. Two professional RenoMark renovators will walk through the five essential steps to a home or condominium renovation, offer helpful tips and answer questions from the audience. The seminar will guide you through the early planning stages of a renovation, outline what you should know about permits and point out what to look for when hiring a renovator.
Another great source of professional renovation advice is Destination Renovation, BILD’s featured exhibit at the show. It will have a team of RenoMark renovators sharing their expertise and offering helpful renovation tips. Feel free to bring your photos, sketches and floor plans.
Destination Renovation is also a great place to learn about the national RenoMark program and how it can help you find professional renovators, trade contractors and custom builders. The program was created by BILD in Toronto in 2001 and was so well received it has since expanded nationwide. To learn more or to find a renovator, visit www.renomark.ca .
All RenoMark renovators operate under a code of conduct that commits them to providing a written contract for all jobs, offering a minimum two-year warranty and having at least $2 million worth of liability insurance.
