Pineapple on pizza would be a forbidden fruit, if the president of Iceland had his way.
President Gudni Johannesson hates the hotly debated topping so much, he wants to ban it, according to a report Tuesday.
Johannesson slammed the sweet yellow fruit as a pizza world abomination while visiting a school in Akureyri in North Iceland, according to the local news site Vsir.
While on the trip, students in a history class asked their leader questions about his personal tastes on everything everything from his favorite soccer team, Manchester United, to his most loathed grub.
When one student asked him what he thought about pineapple on pizza, he launched into a tirade — explaining he would pass a ban on the topping, if he had the power, according to a translation by Iceland Magazine.
Gudni’s approval ratings are as high as 97 percent in the country that serves up non-controversial dishes such as skyr (smoked lamb) and rúgbrauð (dark rye bread).
