Not that she’s naming names, but Katy Perry says she’s taking her new shoe collection a lot more seriously than many celebs’ pet fashion projects. “Nobody’s calling it in for me,’” Perry tells Threads. “I’m calling it. This is a real business.”
The pop star’s eponymous footwear line, launching Feb. 16, features 40 cheeky styles (from sneakers to stilettos) with prices ranging from $59 to $299. Perry says she and her design team created original heel molds to make kicks that look straight out of one of her kaleidoscopic music videos.
Bright red flats are shaped like race cars, while mules pair up to form the singer’s signature hand-heart signs. “If I can confidently give a cool spin on something, then I’m going to try it,” she says. If all goes well, Perry says an accessories collection is up next. Roar!
