A lotto winner says she’s no longer planning to sue Camelot over her $1.25 million win as she admits the fortune “doesn’t make me completely unhappy”.
Jane Park, who scooped the jackpot when she was just 17, claimed the huge win had ruined her life and lottery bosses should not allow people her age to take home the top prizes.
But in an appearance on Loose Women today, the now 21-year-old says she no longer plans to take legal action to have the age limit raised to 18 after previously saying 16 was too young.
Jane, who says she considers herself a millionaire, added: “I said that me phoning up the lottery and saying I think 16 is too young, I think you should up your age to 18 – they were never going to be like ‘ok Jane, that’s great advice, we’ll up our age.’”
“So what I had done was, I’d only spoken to a lawyer and wanted to seek legal advice just to get my point out there.
“But because it’s went so far out there I’m not even going to have to go any further because I feel like I’m being listened to now and I feel like people are actually listening to the difficulties.”
Responding to a question from presenter Andrea McClean, about whether she had considered giving the money away, Jane said: “I’m not saying it’s completely unhappy because there are parts of my life which are good and there are days where I wouldn’t change anything.
“I’m just saying there is days where I am upset and it does get on top of me but in the future I do want to have a family and there is family I’ve got now so I just want to be able to provide support for them.”
