When it comes to a winning recipe, it boils down to these simple criteria: easy to replicate, unfussy and enjoyed by everyone at the table.
When The Star published a for a chocolate cake cooked in a mug in the microwave, we were overwhelmed by the positive feedback for something so simple.
Here are some of the winning endorsements.

The cake recipe has worked well. I had my three grandchildren over and I had them measure, write out the recipe and voila! They were pleased.

My seven-year-old son Liam and I tried out your Microwave Chocolate Mug Cake today. Two thumbs up from both of us!

My sister and I have just tried your recipe for chocolate mug cake. (My mom saved the recipe from this morning’s newspaper cause she knew we would like it.) We had to run to the corner store to buy cocoa and baking soda but we had the rest.
After all was said and done, it was delicious. It turned out just like you said it would. And we used sprinkles. Lots and lots of sprinkles.
By the way I am 10 and my sister is 16. I added icing sugar on top, it was delicious!
And FYI … we are working a harry potter 3D puzzle at the same time.
