Coinciding with the arrival of the large tractor unit to Madrid

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, suffered vertigo this Wednesday in the control session of the Plenary of Congress, which forced him to pause and sit down in his seat in order to continue his speech.

It happened when the head of the branch was answering questions from the ‘popular’ bench about the situation in the countryside and the protests and demonstrations that farmers are organizing these days. Specifically, Planas was answering an oral question from the PP deputy for Álava, Javier de Andrés.

The minister had to stop his speech and sit in his seat for a few seconds, which caused the president of Congress, the socialist Francina Armengol, to stop for a moment to ask him about his condition.

After explaining that it was vertigo, Planas continued the control session normally and later, in the corridors of the Lower House, the minister commented that he suffered this episode due to excessive activity. “The only problem is that I am overactive,” he said after finishing his interventions in the control session.

This impact on Planas’s health occurs just on the day that a large agricultural demonstration is being held in Madrid, with mobilizations of tractors that will access the capital in five different columns from surrounding communities and that will arrive at the Ministry of Agriculture around the 2:00 p.m.
