French President Emmanuel Macron plans to visit Canada “in the coming months”, he said during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Germany.

“I hope to be able, as planned, to be able to come to Canada in the coming months,” he said.
The French president spoke of an “excellent bilateral relationship”, with the “same philosophy” of the two leaders, in particular on the conflict in Ukraine.
“Our two countries have an extremely similar agenda, the bilateral relationship is strong,” he said, citing in particular “the subjects of health and artificial intelligence”.
Justin Trudeau was pleased to be able to continue to work with his counterpart, who was reappointed on April 24, on all major issues, from Ukraine to climate change and “economic growth”.
“Thank you for all this leadership that you will continue to bring to the world for the next five years, it is extremely important,” he said.
