Ramon D. Garcia, 57, of Carneys Point, was arrested Sunday and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, aggravated criminal sexual contact, endangering the welfare of a child and making terroristic threats, police said.

The two alleged victims were boys, according to authorities, and the alleged attacks took place over a period of four to five years dating back to 2008.

The allegations came to light against Garcia when police were investigating another criminal case, authorities said.

Police said after his arrest in Carneys Point, their investigation continued and found that Garcia had allegedly committed the same acts against two boys in Penns Grove.

Because of this, another set of charges, identical to those from Carneys Point, were lodged against him in the borough case on Monday, authorities said.

Police said Garcia had lived in the New York City area before moving to Salem County.

Police said authorities at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have been notified of the charges against Garcia because of his immigration status.

Jail records list his country of birth as Cuba.

Garcia remains held at the Salem County Correctional Facility, Mannington Township, without bail.
