A man in his 20s died following a house fire early Monday in the Albany Park neighborhood, according to officials.
The fire started just before 3:10 a.m. Monday in a one and one-half story home in the 4700 block of North Harding Avenue, according to the fire department.
A man in his 20s, the only occupant inside the home at the time of the fire, was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital, Chicago police said.
Officials did not have information about where in the home the man was found.
The fire started in the home’s attic, but the cause of the blaze remained under investigation, officials said.
