Vancouver police fatally shot a man Friday morning at an apartment complex, according to reports.
Officers responded to reports of a stolen car around 6:30 a.m. near the 5800 block of Northeast 41st Circle in the Walnut Grove area, according to The Columbian. The suspect then crashed into a bus near a senior living apartment complex on Northeast 66th Avenue, according to the newspaper.
A Clark County Sheriff’s Office sergeant said the suspect fled on foot into another nearby complex where the shooting occurred, according to The Columbian.
Kim Kapp, Vancouver police spokeswoman, could not be immediately reached.
“I will be at the scene shortly and will be offering a briefing as soon as I have more information,” Kapp said in her voicemail message for callers.
Friday’s officer involved shooting marks the third shooting by police in 24 hours in the metro area. An armed robbery suspect died Thursday morning in Southeast Porltand and another man was critically injured Thursday evening in Northeast Portland.
