Pittsburgh police are investigating the fatal shooting Wednesday night of a 23-year-old man in Homewood.

Police responded to a Shot Spotter alert of several shots fired shortly before 8 p.m. on Inglenook Place, Public Safety spokeswoman Emily Schaffer said. They found the victim, whose name has not been released, lying on the porch of a home with multiple gunshot wounds.

Several people, including children, were inside the home when the shooting happened, Schaffer said. No one else was injured.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The police department's Violent Crime Unit is investigating. Officials did not name any suspects or provide any suspect descriptions.
