A man was hospitalized after being shot in Mount Dora Sunday evening, police said.

Police responded to a home on Grant Avenue near North Clayton Street and found the man injured, Mount Dora Police Deputy Chief Robert Bell said.

The man, who has not been identified, was flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center, Bell said.

His condition was not released.

The home is about a mile outside the city’s quaint downtown area.

Bell said the scene was still active Sunday evening and detectives were hoping to question the victim at the hospital about what happened.

No other details about what led up to the shooting were immediately available.
