Bernard Cherfan, 42, was shot dead around 7:25 p.m. while he was seated in a restaurant on boulevard des Laurentides.
The death of the victim was recorded in a hospital center, had mentioned earlier the Service de police de Laval (SPL).
Linked to Lebanese organized crime, Cherfan, whom the police consider close to Frédérick Silva, had survived a first attempted murder with a firearm in 2015.
Forensic identification technicians went to the scene to analyze the crime scene, said SQ spokesperson Audrey-Anne Bilodeau.
They particularly lingered on the victim’s vehicle parked in front of the restaurant La perle vietnamienne, while witnesses have already been met by the investigators.
Provincial police have not reported any arrests of suspects in the case at this time as the investigation continues.
