It does not rule out that the housing law, pending in Congress, “may be a request” that ERC makes to support the accounts
MADRID, 20 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister of Finance and Public Function, María Jesús Montero, hopes that no amendments to the entire 2022 General State Budget (PGE) project will be presented this Friday beyond those already known and trusts that next week, after debate and vote in Congress, the public accounts continue their parliamentary process.
This Friday is the deadline for submitting amendments to all of the Budgets and they will be debated and voted on in the Congress of Deputies next week, on October 26 and 27. “I hope that the budget project can continue its processing,” the minister pointed out in statements to the media after attending an informative breakfast organized by Europa Press in Madrid, in which the president of the Balearic Government, Francina Armengol, was the protagonist.
Although the minister did not want to give details of how the Budget negotiations are progressing, she has assured that she is still “talking” -and will continue to do so tomorrow- with the usual partners in the approval of public accounts, both PNV and ERC.
He does not rule out that ERC, as it has advanced, wants to include in the negotiation some law that is currently being processed in the Congress of Deputies, such as the Housing Law. “They have talked about housing and I do not rule out the fact that it may be a request that they make, but we always talk about laws in process,” said the head of the Treasury.
Until now, the Popular Party, Citizens and Vox have registered amendments to the entire Budget project or announced their intention to present them.
But just yesterday, Esquerra Republicana pointed out that the PSOE is still “very far” from fulfilling the commitments demanded by the Republicans for an agreement on the 2023 General Budgets. ERC sources assure Europa Press that, although there are still contacts between both parties, the stakes are still high and tabling an amendment to the whole cannot yet be ruled out.
The ERC’s own spokesman, Gabriel Rufián, made it clear on the social network Twitter that there can be no talk of an unblocking and that they will not admit “pressure” in the form of “leaks” from Moncloa. “The PSOE to this day continues not to fulfill its own commitments.”
