Montreal police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed two vehicles in the Pierrefonds area overnight from Thursday to Friday.
The Montreal Police Department received a call around 1:45 a.m. about a vehicle on fire in the parking lot of a commercial building on boulevard de Pierrefonds, near boulevard Saint-Jean.
Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control, which spread to another vehicle parked nearby, causing significant damage.
Although it was not affected by the flames, a residence was evacuated in a preventive manner, said the spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service, Véronique Comtois.
No one was injured and no suspects arrested, while the investigation was transferred to the arson section of the SPVM.
Investigators were to move to the scene to analyze the scene and try to determine the causes and the exact circumstances surrounding this suspicious fire, it was added.
