Movistar has expanded its used device delivery program (Buyback) beyond the mobile phone and will accept the delivery of tablets, as well as the purchase of consoles, televisions and computers with the discounts obtained as part of the new features of the service on the occasion of Black Friday.
The operator has decided to reinforce this program, which to date offered discounts in stores and cash refunds for the delivery of an old mobile phone, and now it will also grant the possibility of discounts on the purchase of a new terminal, according to a statement.
In this way, customers who purchase a new mobile phone will have a discount on their fee if they also deliver an old device.
In addition, new device promotions are incorporated into the Buyback program, also for those acquired through lease, cumulative by adding to the repurchase value of the device delivered by the customer. These promotions will have discounts of between 50 euros and 150 euros.
This sustainable action joins the trend detected among users according to the report ‘The Network of Change: A new paradigm in consumption’, whereby 62% of those surveyed take sustainability factors into account when purchasing a product and 40% state that they try to sell the product rather than throw it away.
This program is in line with Telefónica’s Circular Economy Plan, which aims to achieve Zero Waste by 2030 thanks to repair, reuse and recycling, guaranteeing that its waste is transformed into raw materials that are reintroduced into the supply chain. value, instead of ending up in a landfill.
