New construction permits reached 8,427 units in January, 5.3% less than in the same month of the previous year, although with a rise of 3.93% compared to the December data, according to statistics from the Ministry of Transport , Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma), consulted by Europa Press.
In January, 1,770 new construction visas were granted for single-family homes, 13.82% less than the same month in 2022 and 1.11 less than in December of that year. In the case of block houses, the Mitma counted 6,656 visas in January, 2.73% less than a year ago, but 6.44% more than in December.
For other buildings, which are neither single-family homes nor block, a new construction visa was granted, two less than a year ago.
The statistics also show that the average area per home in January 2023 was 198.2 square meters in the case of single-family homes and 108 square meters for block homes. In other buildings, the average area was 522 square meters for a single building.
