A 28-year-old man was arrested Thursday, accused of firing shots at a motorist during a possible road rage incident, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Jose Tirado was arrested for attempted murder and other charges related to the possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, the sheriff’s office said.
At 9:45 a.m., deputies responded to a call from a concerned passerby at the intersection of South Alafaya Trail and Golfway Boulevard. Although the suspect had already fled the scene, the caller was able to provide deputies with Tirado’s license plate number.
Deputies were able to make contact with the uninjured victim, 24-year-old Israel Santana, whose vehicle was struck by bullets.
Police arrested Tirado at his residence and recovered a firearm inside his vehicle. He was being held at Orange County Jail Thursday afternoon.
