Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a gunman who early Tuesday robbed the Red Roof Inn in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.

It happened at 6:54 a.m. at the 1846 Catasauqua Road motel, where the robber showed a silver and black handgun before demanding cash from the register, according to state police at Bethlehem.

The robber directed employees to place the cash into a black backpack he brought with him. The robber then ran and police believe he may have met up with a vehicle nearby.

There were no reported injuries and state police did not say how much money was stolen.
