Police are searching for a man accused of beating and sexually battering a woman at a Satellite Beach park on Sunday.
The woman was sitting in her car in the parking lot of Hightower Beach Park reading a book about 7 p.m. when the man approached, according to Satellite Beach police.
He pulled her out, threw her to the ground and repeatedly hit in the face, police said. The man then sexually battered her and fled.
Police said the woman had serious injures and was taken to a hospital. She has since been treated and released.
Investigators are asking anyone who might have been in that area of Brevard County on Sunday to call police at 321-773-4400.
They’re also asking anyone who might know the man to call Crimeline at 800-423-8477. Police said he could have fresh scratches and bruises, and is described as being between 30 and 40 years old and weighing about 175 pounds.
