CARNEYS POINT TWP. — Burglars broke through the roof of a diner to get inside to steal cash, police say.

The incident took place in the early-morning hours of Saturday at the Talk of the Towne, 200 North Virginia Ave.

Authorities said workers arriving to open the diner around 5:52 a.m. discovered the burglary.

Police say that the burglars, who were captured on surveillance video, were able to break through the roof of the diner and then get into an office where Betwinner they found money. Authorities did not say how much was taken.

The pair only took cash, nothing else, police said. The diner was closed and no one was there at the time of the burglary.

The two suspects — described as wearing dark clothing and having their face and hands covered — came and went on foot, police said.
