So Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers experienced a little disrespect at a rally on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and now is troubled. For years, she has demonstrated little desire to open lines of communication with her constituents. And for the past eight years she, along with her political colleagues, spurned all of Obama’s efforts to create dialogue.

Such hypocrisy, as she now blindly supports a man who actively encouraged disrespectful behavior at campaign rallies as well as at post-election events. If anyone deserves rebuke for disrespectful behavior it is Trump, who shows no signs of wishing to begin a dialogue with anyone who disagrees with him. If Rep. McMorris Rodgers truly wishes to open the lines of communication with her constituents, she needs to learn to think for herself and to listen.

She missed a great opportunity to talk to thousands of us participating in the Women’s March. We were there to support women; she is a woman; we most likely have some concerns in common. But sadly, she chose to be elsewhere.
