Former Cubs pitcher Jason Hammel has agreed to a contract with the Royals, according to multiple reports late Sunday night.

Hammel, a free agent, will reportedly earn $16 million from the two-year deal. He spent the past two seasons as a starter in the Cubs’ rotation.

Hammel finished the 2016 season with a 15-10 record, recording a 3.83 ERA in 166 2/3 innings pitched. However, he did not make a postseason appearance in the Cubs’ World Series run as manager Joe Maddon left him off the team’s 25-man roster.
