LITTLE EGG HARBOR — A man who worked as a civilian employee of the State Police faces additional charges of child pornography after his initial arrest on sexual assault charges earlier this week, authorities said.

Milton Cortina, 40, of Little Egg Harbor, faces additional charges of possession of child pornography and invasion of privacy after more computer evidence was uncovered, according to a statement from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

Cortina was charged on Wednesday with sexually assaulting a child and possession and distribution of child pornography and multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Police arrested him at his home.

Cortina, who worked for the State Police’s marine services unit as a mechanic since 2014, is being held at the Ocean County Jail.

The prosecutor’s office said a no contact order with the victims has been implemented.
