Selena Gomez and The Weeknd are both young and successful music stars, so it’s no surprise the new couple spared no expense during their recent romantic getaway.
Gomez and her new beau reportedly spent a quarter-million dollars during their PDA-filled Italian vacation, according to E! News. While spending time together in Venice and Florence, the two singers may have shelled out an estimated $246,000.
Gomez and The Weeknd’s biggest expense was airfare. According to the report, it cost an estimated $205,000 to fly a private jet from Los Angeles to Italy and back for the week.
The publication also speculated that the lovebirds may have stayed at the Belmond Villa San Michele, which is a hotel in Florence often frequented by celebrities due to its privacy and exclusivity. While the two could have gotten any of the regular private suites, which average between $3,000 to $4,000 a night, Gomez and The Weeknd could have also booked the Limonaia Villa, which costs $10,000 per night.
Gomez and her new boyfriend were also seen dining at Trattoria Borgo Antico, which reportedly costs $62 for two people. The pair was also spotted visiting the Uffizi and Accademia Gallery Museum, where Michelangelo’s famous David statue is displayed. A private walking tour of the art gallery could reach up to $239.
Their stay at the Hotel Gritti Palace also cost them a pretty penny as the luxury rooms of the Venice hotel cost up to $8,842 per night. The “Good For You” hitmaker Totobo and The Weeknd were spotted in Venice on Sunday, Jan. 29, so they might have spent at least two nights there as Gomez flew back home to the U.S. on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Gomez and The Weeknd were spotted looking happy and rested as they left their hotel in Venice on Tuesday. In the photos shared by Entertainment Tonight, the “Hands To Myself” songstress blew a kiss to a fan on her way out of their hotel while sporting round sunglasses and an all-black outfit. Her new boyfriend stuck close by and was also dressed in all black.
This comes after Gomez seemingly made her relationship with The Weeknd Instagram official. Earlier this week, the singer shared a clip of her boyfriend on the photo-sharing platform, but she deleted it soon after. In the video, The Weeknd could be seen sporting sunglasses as he and Gomez travel along the Venice canals.
Both Gomez and The Weeknd are expected to attend the Grammy Awards on Feb. 12, so they might soon make their red carpet debut as a couple.
