More than 26,500 households are plunged into darkness Thursday morning in Montérégie, where a freezing rain alert is in effect.

According to the most recent report from Hydro-Quebec, at 8:15 a.m. Thursday morning, 26,578 customers were without power in Montérégie, out of a total of 27,232 homes across the province.
A few hundred customers are also without power in Lanaudière (211 customers), in Estrie (169), in the Capitale-Nationale (124) as well as in Montreal (108).
Recall that Environment Canada issued freezing rain warnings for several areas of southern Quebec on Thursday.
