The Primark textile chain, belonging to the Associated British Foods (AB Foods) group, reached a turnover of 1,998 million pounds (2,331 million euros) in its third fiscal quarter, which represents an improvement of 13% compared to the same period of the previous year, reported the multinational.
“Sales grew 13% in the quarter, with like-for-like sales growth of 7%, supported by higher average sales prices,” the company explained, highlighting the good performance of its summer collections when season has begun. season in their markets.
Primark’s comparable sales growth in the quarter was 6% in the UK and 7% in Europe excluding the UK. In addition to seasonal clothing and accessories, sales of health and beauty products were particularly strong, the company noted.
In this way, in the first nine months of its fiscal year, Primark’s sales totaled 6,226 million pounds (7,264 million euros), with growth of 15% or 9% in comparable data.
On the other hand, Primark indicated that it has continued with the implementation of its enhanced website, which launched in Germany, Spain, Italy and the US in the period and in France shortly after the end of the period, while it will continue to do so. in the remaining markets during the summer.
At the ABF group level, the multinational’s income in the third fiscal quarter reached 4,726 million pounds (5,514 million euros), 16% more, while so far this year the group’s turnover amounted to 14,286 million dollars (16,668 million euros), 17% more.
“The group continues to operate well. Based on current business conditions, we now expect adjusted operating profit for the full year to be moderately higher than last year,” the multinational has advanced.
