Dave Gingras-Gaudet, who escaped Thursday from the Quebec Detention Facility, was arrested this evening around 8 p.m. on Seigneuriale Street in the Beauport sector.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), it was the SQ’s tactical intervention group that grabbed him at a gas station. The 37-year-old reportedly had no time to react, and officers subdued him without anyone being hurt.

The individual has been taken into the care of the Quebec City Detention Facility and is expected to appear tomorrow to face charges, among others, of escape from legal custody.

The paramedics went to the scene to assist the clerk of the convenience store, who suffered a nervous shock at the scale of the intervention of the special squad of the SQ.

Recall that the prisoner took advantage of an outing to the outer courtyard of the prison to escape. Helped by two accomplice prisoners, he then managed to breach the fence surrounding the building before fleeing on foot.
