Renfe’s collaboration with Dual Vocational Training in the railway sector is celebrating ten years in which more than 430 students have passed through the railway company, of which 353 have completed paid internships and 300 have obtained a place.

Renfe has actively collaborated, since 2013, with this training through the Medium Level Training Cycle in Maintenance of Railway Rolling Stock, which is taught in seven educational centers in Andalusia, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Comunitat Valenciana and Comunidad de Madrid.

In these ten years, more than 430 students have passed through Renfe, of which 353 have completed paid internships through dual programs, with an investment by the company of close to 700,000 euros, as highlighted in a statement.

The Railway Rolling Stock Maintenance vocational training cycle is taught in two formats, the ordinary modality, with a training module in work centers – around 380 hours -, and the Dual modality, which combines the transmission of knowledge and skills with paid internships in real work environments – between 600 and 1,000 hours -.

In the case of Dual FP, Renfe has signed collaboration agreements with the Departments of Education of Andalusia, Castilla y León, Catalonia and Madrid, to provide coverage to educational centers and collaborate with them with paid internships in direct production teams. of the Maintenance Bases of Renfe Manufacturing and Maintenance. These practices represent approximately 33% of the cycle duration.

Furthermore, as a complement to the teaching in the centers, Renfe provides its facilities and material means, company tutors and expert trainers from its Technical Professional Maintenance School (ETPM).

During the first two promotions, the ETPM provided 600 hours of theoretical-practical training, in addition to paid internships, aimed at both students and teachers.

These studies are taught in dual modality at the CIFP Río Ebro in Miranda de Ebro (Burgos), the CIFP Juan de Herrera in Valladolid, the Francesc Xavier Lluch i Rafecas Institute in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona), the CIFP Professor Raúl Vázquez in Madrid and the IES La Rosaleda in Málaga.

In the ordinary mode, they can be taken at the Railway Orphans College in Madrid and the Xabec Vocational Training Center in Valencia.

In the last four years, a total of 300 students who have taken these modules have obtained a place in Renfe through the Public Employment Offers called.

On the other hand, Renfe works actively with the participation of the ETPM for the creation of the Higher Degree in Railway Rolling Stock Maintenance with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
