Renfe announced this Saturday that its board of directors has approved the investment of 32 million euros over the next two years to improve global telecommunications services and computer applications.
The railway company has specified in a press release that the tender for two contracts has been approved: one for the comprehensive service of fixed communications, voice, data and advanced services for a period of five years and an amount of 14.6 million euros.
The second contract aims to renew Renfe’s computer application continuity and evolution service for an amount of 18.2 million euros, which is currently being developed by the company’s subsidiary LogiRail.
Regarding comprehensive telecommunications services, the public company has detailed that this new agreement will reinforce the telephone customer service services that are carried out through the digital skills centers of Linares and Mérida, and, in addition, totally free calls may be offered.
On the other hand, the statement has emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and technology, since they intend for their digital assets to be in continuous evolution and adapt to changes in the different business areas, in short, “to be in “continues to improve to offer a better service”.
Likewise, Renfe has argued that this investment is aligned with the company’s commitment to digital transformation to implement new technologies in the company and digitize all business processes and, in this way, make internal processes more efficient and improve thus the customer’s travel experience.
