The third vice president of the Government and minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, has assured that the headquarters of the new National Energy Commission (CNE) will be in Madrid, “in the same city where it was before.”

Likewise, he criticized the suspicions of those who question the independence of the new regulator and affirm that it will be at the service of the Executive.

“They are part of the slander. Surely they must have thought about it when the Aznar Government created it and when it lasted more than twenty years,” he said in this regard, questioning: “Who is surprised that, like 25 other member states of the Union European Union, recover something that has already existed here until the day before yesterday?”

The minister pointed out the value of recovering an independent regulator specialized in energy”, and stated that it will have “practically the same functions” that it had in the past, “with a very important novelty, attributing to it the function of facilitating through its decisions decarbonization”.

On the other hand, Ribera estimated that the publication by the Government of the methodology for updating the remuneration for the operation of facilities with a specific cogeneration remuneration regime could occur “around the summer.”

“Basically, I believe that the format in which we are working is known, because public information has already come out, and obviously we are attentive, attending to all the observations, all the allegations that we have received, and we will do it as soon as possible, with guarantee,” he noted. about.

In any case, he stated that the remuneration for the pending semesters is already being addressed, although he indicated that the new methodology “will be around the summer.”
