MADRID, 22 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Banco Santander has chosen the current president and CEO of Santander Consumer USA, Mahesh Aditya, as the new risk director for the entire group, according to financial sources confirmed to Europa Press.

This change occurs after the departure of Keiran Foad, who until now was leading the risk area, according to El Confidencial, which this Thursday announced the news of Aditya’s election.

Aditya was appointed president and CEO of Santander Consumer USA in December 2019, after joining the bank in 2017 as director of operations in the US, after being director of risk at Visa.

He has also worked in risk management at Citibank, where he began his career in 1990, and has worked for JPMorgan Chase and Capital One.

This appointment is added to that of Carlos Hajj, who was appointed director of costs in October. The election of Hajj has already been made effective, while the change of Aditya will be made already in the new year, according to the same sources.

It should be noted that these appointments take place within the framework of the succession process of José Antonio Álvarez as CEO. As of January 1, the new CEO of the bank will be Héctor Grisi, who until now has been the CEO of Santander México and regional head of the bank in North America.
