The Government of Quebec launched a new recruitment campaign on Monday to counter the shortage of teaching in preschool, primary and secondary schools.
This new campaign entitled “Teach our young people, build the future” aims to challenge retired teachers and individuals about to obtain a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent diploma, in a subject taught in Quebec schools. .
“We are looking for competent people who want to work with and for young people, graduates, retirees who have educational success at heart,” said the Minister of Education, Jean-François Roberge, who specified that the government will continue to promote this important profession in the development of the province.
Thus, those wishing to apply can do so online via the government website. These applications will allow Quebec to have a bank of qualified people to lend a hand and perform short- to medium-term replacements in the school environment.
“Education is a government and national priority and throughout the past few years, we have taken concrete steps to demonstrate it,” he added.
“This announcement is part of Operation Workforce, launched last January with the aim of countering the labor shortage in the field of education. A series of initiatives were then announced,” the Ministry of Education said in a statement.
