BAYONNE — A small plane crashed in the city Sunday morning, police confirmed.
A police dispatcher confirmed there was a plane crash on Avenue E, but had no additional information.
The Bayonne Office of Emergency Management tweeted around 10:20 a.m. that the crash happened on Avenue E between 41st and 42nd streets.
Officials are urging residents to avoid the area.
No additional information was immediately available at 10:25 a.m.
A photo from the scene posted on Twitter showed the wreckage of the small plane tangled in power lines and front-end damage to at least one vehicle.
