MADRID, 15 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Spanish listed companies distributed 38 million euros in dividends and other types of payments among their shareholders, 60.8% less than the same month in 2022, according to data from Spanish Stock Exchanges and Markets (BME).
Between January and September, listed companies have already distributed 22,316 million euros, 15.7% more than in the same period of 2022 and above the dividends they gave in all of 2020 and 2021, years affected by the exceptional nature of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, the dividends distributed remain below the pre-pandemic level, since in 2019 22,898 million euros were distributed in the first nine months.
The decline is especially pronounced if one takes into account the ‘rain of dividends’ recorded since April, when the vast majority of the year’s dividends were distributed.
Specifically, in the fourth month of the year 5,738 million euros were distributed, followed by 4,589 million in May, 1,449 million in June, 7,282 million in July and 566 million in August.
