Sorry, Gisele, but there’s no stopping Tom Brady now that he’s the most decorated quarterback in NFL history.
Brady went on SiriusXM NFL Radio Monday morning — 12 hours after capturing his fifth Super Bowl ring in stunning fashion, ripping a 25-point lead away from the Falcons to steal New England’s 34-28 overtime win — and said his wife, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen, has seen enough.
“If it was up to my wife, she’d have me retire today,” Brady said. “She told me that last night. I said, ‘Too bad, babe.’”
With his resilient MVP performance Sunday night, Brady has shown himself to be the NFL’s Benjamin Button, clocking one of his best seasons despite his age and his four-game suspension at the start of the season due to Deflategate. Even scarier for opposing defenses, the 39-year-old quarterback admitted he feels better physically in his 17th year in the league than he did in his fifth.
“When I was 25, I was hurting all the time,” he said Monday morning after Roger Goodell presented him with his MVP trophy. “And now, at 39, my arm never hurts. My body never hurts. Even after I get banged up, I know how to take care of it and jump on it right away so that I can feel good for a Wednesday practice.”
If Brady continues to play like he did in Super Bowl LI, Gisele can expect more raucous celebrations like Sunday night’s screaming selfie moment.
