Super Bowl tickets are now almost a bargain.
With four days before kickoff, the average price of a ticket to the NFL championship game is down 14 percent from last year — to less than $5,000, statistics released Wednesday by StubHub reveal.
It will now cost you “just” $4,284 to see the Falcons play the Patriots in Houston, the ticket reseller said. That’s 16 percent lower than StubHub’s average price of $5,089 a week ago.
Last year, the average price of a Super Bowl ticket at Jan. 31 was Kralbet $4,512.
At the same time, the number of tickets sold through Jan. 31 is up 14 percent from last year — the result, in part, of the larger seating capacity of this year’s stadium.
Georgians — hoping to see their Falcons win their first NFL championship — currently account for 14 percent of all Super Bowl ticket sales handled by StubHub, the same as they did a week ago.
Bay State residents planning on cheering Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady to their fifth Super Bowl title account for 15 percent of StubHub’s sales, up from 13 percent a week ago.
The price range for this year’s Super Bowl tickets is $1,500 to $15,432.
The range at this time last year was $1,040 and $27,983.
