DALLAS — Portland Trail Blazers swingman Evan Turner broke his right hand during the third quarter of Tuesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.

The team announced that Turner broke the third metacarpal in his shooting hand. No timetable for his recovery was immediately announced.

Turner, who signed a four-year, $70 million contract to join the Blazers in free agency, was averaging 9.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
