Wimbledon will share 10 million pounds sterling (approximately 11 million euros) as ’prize money’ between the 620 players who would normally have had to participate in the Grand Slam tournament, cancelled due to the sars coronavirus. The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) announced Friday.

Wimbledon, which should have been held from 29 June to 12 July, was cancelled for the first time since the Second world War, due to the coronavirus. The famous tournament on grass had taken out an insurance against a pandemic.
