4. So. Lewis Fernandes (26-7) Voorhees

Taking injury time: Sr. Drew Horun (28-4) Phillipsburg (out for season)
Honorable mention (in alphabetical order): Jr. Yousef Abbas (12-9) North Hunterdon; Sr. Stephen Good (21-12) Saucon Valley; So. Joseph Schrader (17-7) Bangor; Jr. Dante Seals (19-6) Allen; Sr. Max Viduszynski (29-11) Easton
Comments: The terrible news of Horun’s season-ending knee injury suffered in the North 2 Group 4 final came through Tuesday to shake up this class. Everybody bumps up one spot behind Lightner at the top. Perugini, on the basis of a more recent win over Viduszynski and generally better recent performance, comes in at No. 5. Fernandes lost 7-5 to Montville’s 26-4 Liridon Leka; not a bad loss, so he stays where he was. Lightner boosted Del Val’s run to its first Group 2 state crown in 18 years with three falls and a major – just what a wrestler of his caliber is supposed to for the team.
