Comments: Chlebove’s drop here has repercussions all down the line. The returning Konkrete Kid state champion came down from 126 and defeated Werner (13-5), O’Grady (technical fall) and Glenn (1-0) to leave absolutely no doubt (as if there ever was much, but, still…) as to who’s No. 1 here. That made for an extremely impressive week from Chlebove. There’s no head-to-head this year (yet) between Glenn and Werner, who are very close for No. 2. But Glenn is wrestling as well as anyone in the area right now, and you have to look at the comparative scores between Glenn and Werner with Chlebove and the way the matches went. Doing so moves Glenn to No. 2 and Werner to No. 3 but it’s exceedingly close. O’Grady is an easy No. 4. Chlebove coming down means that somebody gets bounced from the top 5, and Jones’ 3-2 decision over Wehr in the D-11 2A semifinals (coupled with his 6-0 win over Wehr five days before) keeps the Panther, who is also in peak form, in the top 5. Wehr posted an 8-4 win over McGuire in the 2A quarterfinals. Wulff went 5-0 and may be ready for a strong postseason; ditto Rinehart. Both D-11 tournaments will be fun in this class, which may be the strongest of any in the region.
