Comments: Nunez drops here from 138 and finds an instant home in the top 5, which also helps settle the long-running issue at the No. 5 spot here. Nunez is a pretty clear choice, though Rex, who pinned Daniel in the D-11 2A team quarterfinal, and Mills still close though the Terrier really shouldn’t have lost to Vincent Romaniello of Hunterdon Central 3-2. Pulli had a huge pin against Bethlehem Catholic that may well have swung the match the Blue Eagles’ way; he might push for a spot. Gapas’ loss was up at 138 to Bound Brook’s Robert Cleary (ranked No. 3 in the state by Wrestling Full Circle), 9-4, and that incurs no penalty. Neither does Papcsy’s 3-1 OT loss at 138 to Northampton’s No. 1 Dan Moran, either; in fact, that was a terrific bout that the Golden Hawk should be proud of. Valli might get another shot at Cranford’s Chris Scorese (ranked No. 3 in the state by Wrestling Full Circle) in the North 2 Group 3 sectional final; Scorese pinned Valli in OT when they met in a dual.
