Mario Gomez, the former striker including Bayern Munich, Fiorentina and the German national team, will take his retirement as a professional footballer after helping Stuttgart, the club from its beginnings back in the first division. “It was my last mission,” said Gomez, on Sunday, after the defeat 1-3 against Darmstadt, which does not prevent the VfB to find the Bundesliga for the next season.
Gomez scored the only goal of his own, scoring his 110th goal in the jersey of Stuttgart, with whom he debuted in professional football in 2004 and where he was since 2001.
