Boone shakalaka.

The Indians scooped up potential Yankees relief target Boone Logan on a one-year deal, according to Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal. The contract comes with a one-year club option, too, according to Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Obviously, the move gives the defending American League champions yet another veteran to add to their bullpen as they gear up for another World Series run.

But let’s look at what it means for the Yankees.

Headley looking over his shoulder?

1.) Don’t expect another arm: As of early January, the Yankees were still in contact with Logan, a lefty who had a 3.69 ERA in 66 appearances for the Rockies last season. Maybe their conversations with Logan weren’t all that serious. Or maybe they were in it until the very end. We don’t know yet. But the Yankees — while citing a pressing need to add pitching — only added Aroldis Chapman this offseason. After the Chapman deal, they repeatedly said that they would need to shed money before adding more salary. That didn’t happen. There’s not much time for it to happen.

2.) No standout lefties: Aside from Chapman, who’s a lefty the Yankees can count on? Figure Tommy Layne would be at the top of the pecking order after he pitched reasonably well (16 IP, 3.38 ERA) for the Yankees following the Red Sox designating him for assignment. Then … Chasen Shreve, who was up and down last season? Richard Belier, who became a 29-year-old rookie last year?

3.) Bullpen projection, just for fun: Off my head, here’s how I project the Yankees’ bullpen to shake out come Opening Day: Chapman, Dellin Betances, Tyler Clippard, Layne, Ben Heller, Bryan Mitchell. That’s subject to change, of course.
