National signing day is underway. Keep it here for updates from Illinois, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Northern Illinois.

Notre Dame updates

The last two of Notre Dame’s five early enrollees have been announced: tight end Brock Wright — the highest-rated player in the class — and offensive lineman Aaron Banks. Defensive lineman Kurt Hinish and kicker Jonathan Doerer also have signed, bringing the total to 17.

Also in the mix: Quarterback Avery Davis and wide receiver Jafar Armstrong. That’s 12 announced signees so far for the Irish, and that doesn’t include tight end Brock Wright and offensive lineman Aaron Banks, who are already enrolled.

The Irish’s first 10 signees: running back C.J. Holmes, wide receiver Michael Young Jr., offensive linemen Josh Lugg, Dillan Gibbons and Robert Hainsey, defensive linemen Jonathon MacCollister and Darnell Ewell, linebacker Drew White, Neuqua Valley safety Isaiah Robertson and St. Viator tight end Cole Kmet.

Hainsey, Holmes and Robertson were early enrollees.

Northwestern’s recruiting class is complete, and as usual for the Wildcats, it was a surprise-free signing day. California wide receiver Berkeley Holman was the 19th and final player to send in his signed letter of intent.

The highest-rated player in Northwestern’s class, four-star defensive end Earnest Brown, has signed. The Wildcats have also added safety Austin Hiller and Glenbard North wide receiver Jace James. That’s 18 of the 19 commitments they entered the day with, including two early enrollees: defensive lineman Sam Miller and superback Trey Pugh.

Northwestern also announced the commitments of several preferred walk-ons, including Montini defensive lineman Joe Spivak, who reportedly turned down a late scholarship offer from Michigan State.

Also planning to walk on in Evanston are Wheaton North linebacker Erik Mueller, superback Alex Oelsner, wide receiver Will Lansbury, long snapper Peter Snodgrass, punter Cody Gronewald and kicker/punter Luke Otto, a graduate transfer from Western Illinois.

The Wildcats’ first 13 signees: offensive lineman Sam Gerak, Ethan Wiederkehr and Rashawn Slater, kicker Charlie Kuhbander, linebackers Chee Anyanwu, Blake Gallagher and Peter McIntyre, quarterback Andrew Marty,  wide receiver Kyric McGowan, safeties J.R. Pace and Bryce Jackson, cornerback Cameron Ruiz and defensive end Trevor Kent.
