Nazareth’s 33-24 defeat of Bethlehem Catholic in Saturday’s District 11 3A team wrestling final evened the season series between the two powers at 1 win apiece. The Golden Hawks had topped the Blue Eagles 40-20 in the EPC final Jan. 28.

The two could meet for a third time in the PIAA 3A final in Hershey Saturday (1 p.m.) at the Giant Center. If so, it would mark the first all-District 11 state team final since 2007 when Nazareth defeated Easton 40-21 for its only state duals title. Becahi has won 5 (4 2A, 1 3A), Easton 4 and Northampton 1; in 2A, Wilson has won 2 and Northern Lehigh 1.

Nazareth will be hoping to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its state dual crown by winning another, and after Saturday’s remarkable win the Blue Eagles must be considered the favorite do so.
