The NBA trade deadline is just over a week away, Thursday, Feb. 23, and while no blockbuster deal has been struck yet, a few minor moves have been made.
Here’s a look at the completed deals thus far:
* Feb. 14: The Orlando Magic will send forward Serge Ibaka to the Toronto Raptors for G/F Terrence Ross and a 2017 first-round pick, according to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
* Feb. 13: The Cleveland Cavaliers opened up a roster spot by sending Chris “Birdman” Andersen and cash to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for a 2017 second-round pick (top-55 protected). The Hornets waived Andersen shortly after the deal was completed.
* Feb. 12: Portland and Denver swapped centers, with Mason Plumlee and a 2017 second-round pick going to the Nuggets in exchange for Jusuf Nurkic and a 2017 first-round pick headed back to the Blazers.
* Feb. 2: Earlier this month, another Plumlee was traded, with Miles Plumlee going from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Roy Hibbert and Spencer Hawes.
* Jan. 7: The first eyebrow-raiser of 2017 was the Cavaliers acquiring sharp-shooter Kyle Korver from the Atlanta Hawks for Mike Dunleavy Jr., the contract of Mo Williams and a 2019 first-round pick. In a separate move, the Cavaliers and Trail Blazers swapped first-round picks, with Portland getting Cleveland’s 2017 pick in exchange for its 2018 selection.
The 2017 NBA trade deadline is Thursday, Feb. 23 at noon PT.
